Madi

A documentary short on Madi Boewe's pursuit of becoming a better artist. With a tenacious, almost addictive drive to improve and create, Madi explores the importance of creating boundaries in one's work habits. With a past of almost manic tendencies and alcohol abuse, Madi has flipped her life to become a healthier, happier, and more grateful human. Madi stresses the importance of being a healthy artist, rather than living in a state of exhaustion.

Artist statement: "I create for the love of creating, for the passion of using my own two hands, to make lifelong pieces of art. I find inspiration tromping through nature, hiking, traveling, interacting with others, making music and connecting to a sense of stillness through yoga. Silver smithing gives me the ability to transform all this inspiration into designs that can be worn day in and day out."
